Updated July 29, 2026: Notice of “Changes to the Operating Period” for the MCT-Exclusive Ferry Between Miyato Island and the Urado Islands
[UpdatedJuly 29, 2026: Service Schedule During the Obon Period]
The MCT-exclusive ferry connecting Miyato in Higashimatsushima City, Miyagi Prefecture, and Kanazawa Island in Shiogama City will be suspended during the Obon period according to the schedule below.
■ Suspension Period
August 13 (Thu) – August 16 (Sun)
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to passengers planning to use the ferry during this period. Please check the ferry schedule in advance when making your reservation.
The ferry service schedule for Reiwa 8 (FY 2026) will be from April 15 to November 14.
(Reservations will begin on March 1.)
You can use the ferry service to travel between Miyato Island in Higashimatsushima City and the Urato Islands (Kanazawa Island) in Shiogama City.
This route was established specifically for the Michinoku Coastal Trail; since it is not a scheduled ferry service, reservations must be made “at least 5 days in advance.”
(Please note in advance that since this service is provided using fishing boats with the cooperation of local captains, we may not be able to accommodate your preferred date and time.)

*The minimum number of participants is 1. Please pay the captain in cash when boarding.
3. How to Make a Reservation (Phone Reservations Only)
Advance Reservations Required *Reservations must be made at least 5 days prior to your desired boarding date.

*Please note that the ferry may be unable to operate on the day of your trip due to rough seas.
Be sure to contact the ferry captain the day before (between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM) to confirm whether the ferry will be operating.
