TRAIL GATE Hiking Gear Shop

TRAIL GATE is a hiking gear shop located within the Natori Trail Center, jointly operated by Hiker’s Depot in Mitaka, Tokyo, and the Michinoku Trail Club.

The name comes from “Yuriage,” the location where the center is situated. The character “閖,” which is used only in this region, carries the meaning of “gate.” And since this location lies along the Michinoku Coastal Trail, we named it “TRAIL GATE.”Located at the Natori Trail Center—the hub for information on the Michinoku Coastal Trail—we work to promote hiking culture and strive to popularize hiking from the perspective of the equipment used as well.

In developing this product line, through-hikers on the Michinoku Coastal Trail have selected the gear necessary for hiking, with the cooperation of Hiker’s Depot.
In addition to the Michinoku Coastal Trail Hiking Map Book, Data Book, and original merchandise, we also sell camping gear such as small tents and bivy sacks, as well as backpacks, shoulder bags, alcohol stoves, and insect repellents—including those designed to ward off mountain ticks.

Although it’s located along the Michinoku Coastal Trail, it’s easily accessible—about a 30-minute drive from Sendai Station and about a 10-minute drive from Sendai Airport—so please stop by to get ready for your hike.
