Masumi Yanagita
Born in Ibaraki Prefecture.
I moved to Tokyo to attend college.
I started camping as a hobby, got completely hooked on it, and before I knew it, I discovered a passion for hiking.
I’ve hiked the Takashima Trail, the Shin-Etsu Trail, the Tokai Nature Trail, the Izu Mountain Ridge Trail & the Nishi-Izu Trail, and more… and I’ve become hooked on taking my time to hike these trails over the course of several days.
Back when I lived in Tokyo, I hiked the Michinoku Coastal Trail in sections, and at the time
I found myself daydreaming, “What would life be like if I moved to Tohoku…?”
I finally made up my mind, resigned from my previous job in the summer of 2022, and headed to the Colorado Trail in the U.S.
And before I knew it, those daydreams became reality—I moved to the Tohoku region and joined the Michinoku Trail Club as a staff member in October 2022.
