“Chain Hiking” New Series Now Underway

The “Chain Hike” hiking event, which has been held since 2020 along the section of the Natori Trail Center’s jurisdiction between Soma City and Higashimatsushima City, successfully concluded its third series on October 5, 2025, with a total of 137 participants. Thank you to everyone who took part.

September 2024: Starting from Matsukawaura Environmental Park in Soma City
February 2025, at Kitakama Farm in Natori City
April 2025, Tagajo City: The Restored South Gate of Tagajo Castle and Cherry Blossoms
May 2025—At Aomina, Miyato, Higashimatsushima City, with Captain Endo and the members of Captain Endo’s crew

And starting in November, we will be holding a new series called “Mostly Chain Hiking.”
Up until now, we’ve walked the routes in a sequential order, starting from the north and then the south. However, in this series, the order will be random, and we’ll walk each section at a time when it’s likely to be more enjoyable (this is why we’ve used “roughly”). We’ve also shortened the distances slightly (so we’ll skip some sections) to allow more people to participate.
And now that the schedule has been finalized, I would like to inform you.
*Due to the issuance of the “Hokkaido/Sanriku Offshore Earthquake Warning” on December 8, 2025, the December event has been canceled and the subsequent schedule has been changed. Please take note.
Please note that the event date may change again in the future.
