Q9. What is the Michinoku Coastal Trail charter?
The MCT, which spans four prefectures and 29 municipalities, connects sidewalks managed by various entities—including local governments—and has become a “walking trail” stretching over 1,000 km.To ensure that this trail continues into the future as a single, continuous path, cooperation and collaboration are needed not only from the trail’s administrators but also from a wide range of stakeholders, including local organizations along the route, guide groups, individuals, lodging facilities, transportation providers, local residents, and the hikers who use the trail.
The charter was made to share the heart of this trail with people from all walks of life. Why was this trail made? Why do we want it to survive and flourish in the future? The charter holds the core thoughts and values that need to be shared with everyone over the bounds of time and distance. (See attachment 3)
