The Hachinohe-Towada Trail (HTT) extends from the northern end of the Michinoku Coastal Trail (MCT), and the Fukushima Beach Road Trail (FCT) extends from its southern end.Together, these three trails span over 1,300 km.

Hachinohe-Towada Trail (HTT)
The HTT, which stretches from Hachinohe City in Aomori Prefecture to Lake Towada in Towada City, is operated through a wide-area partnership involving one prefecture, two cities, two towns, the Ministry of the Environment, and private organizations.Connecting the sea, mountains, rivers, and satoyama woodlands, this historic trail—where people and religious practices have long intermingled—is a 120-kilometer walking route that takes you from a vibrant fishing town through beautiful rice fields and orchards,deep green forests, and the clear streams of Oirase—a 120-kilometer walking trail that takes you through a gradual transition from urban areas to rich natural landscapes.

Fukushima Beach Trail (FCT)
The FCT, which stretches from Shinchi Town at the northern tip of Fukushima Prefecture to Iwaki City at its southern tip, is operated through collaboration among 13 municipalities and private organizations affiliated with the “Utsukushima Hamakaido Promotion Council.”From the majestic and sometimes dynamic scenery of the Pacific Ocean to the rich natural environment provided by the Abukuma Mountain Range, as well as the history and daily life passed down through the region—this 200-kilometer walking trail allows you to discover the “authentic charm” of the Hamadori region with every step you take.The northernmost section, from Shinchi Town to Soma City, overlaps with the MCT route.
