Lewis Robin Takashi
With roots in Japan and the UK, Robin fell in love with the outdoors as a child.
He has hiked trails around the world, including in Turkey, Morocco, Spain, Germany, and the United Kingdom, and also trained at the "Himalayan Mountaineering School," a mountaineering training institution in India.
Since 2017, we have been providing information about the Michinoku Coastal Trail to international hikers, working to promote the trail globally through initiatives such as launching an English-language website and maps, and managing social media communities.
In 2022, I completed a through-hike of the Michinoku Coastal Trail and was captivated by the encounters that arise from traveling on foot. Hoping that the Michinoku Coastal Trail will become a path connecting Tohoku with the world, I am involved in sharing information and building a community.
As a social entrepreneur and educator, she is also involved in projects that connect people with nature, such as initiatives to reduce plastic waste through “mymizu,” Japan’s first free water-finding app, and the development of educational programs in collaboration with universities and companies.
Currently, as Representative Director of the General Incorporated Association Social Innovation Japan, she is working to solve social and environmental issues by leveraging the power of co-creation.
