Frequently Asked Questions

About the MCT in general

Q2. What should I do if get lost or injured, or there’s an accident?

If you get lost, injured or in an accident, or have any other problem you need help with like being unable to move, do not hesitate to call 110 for the police and be clear that you are asking to be rescued. If you call, then you can be located through cell phone tower information and GPS.
If you do not speak Japanese, carry supplemental hone numbers you can use in case of an emergency such as the Japan Visitor Hotline.
Work to reduce your risk by letting friends and family know that you are going to hike the MCT and sharing details on what your hiking plans are.

It’s also important to keep supplies like rain gear and/or warmer clothing, a flashlight or other light, a charger, water, food and a first aid kid in your bag.
