Mount Kujira is located between Yamada Town and Otsuchi Town. With nearby attractions such as the Rikuchu Coast Youth Center and the Sanriku Railway Station, it is one of the Sanriku region’s most iconic hiking trails, where even local residents can hike without hesitation.The view from the summit overlooks the rias coastline. Near the summit of Mt. Kujira, winter hiking gear is required if there is ice or snow on the trail.
