A Day Trip Exploring the Urado Islands by Ferry and on Foot [Day Trip]

Each island offers its own unique attractions, such as the foot bath at Aomina (Saturdays and Sundays only), a tour of the Jizō statues on Kanazawa Island, a tour of camellias, lavender, and mullet on Nono Island, and the Tabu Forest on Katsura Island. One of the unique charms of this section is that, in addition to walking, you can experience a sense of escapism by riding the city-operated steamboats and ferries. In particular, the ferry service between Higashimatsushima City and Shiogama City (April–October) was established specifically for the Michinoku Coastal Trail, and the captain provides a guided tour of the islands right from the deck. *Please note that there are no places to buy lunch on the islands themselves.
