Natori Trail Center Campground
This is a campground for hikers and campers located in the garden of the Michinoku Coastal Trail Natori Trail Center.
There are “Free Tent Sites” for tent camping and “Auto Campsites” where you can park your car within the designated area.
It is conveniently located near the Yuriage Port Morning Market (Maple Hall), Kawamachi Terrace Yuriage, and the Natori City Cycle Sports Center, making it a great spot for shopping and leisure activities. Feel free to enjoy a casual camping experience.

*If business hours change due to holidays or other reasons, we will post a notice.
*You cannot book consecutive nights that include a Tuesday (our regular day off) through the reservation site. Please contact us by email or phone to discuss your options.
Since we explain the terms and conditions at check-in, stays cannot begin on a Tuesday.
(Consecutive nights from Monday through Wednesday are possible.)
*As staff will be away for an extended period during the year-end and New Year holidays, the facility is generally unavailable during this time.
However, hikers on the Michinoku Coastal Trail may be able to use the free tent sites or the Hiker Plan even on closed days or during the year-end and New Year holidays, provided they contact us in advance.

About Reservations
Please make your reservation through the following website no later than the day before your visit:
Same-day reservations can be made by phone. This option is limited to guests who can check in during opening hours.

About Cancellations

*Please note that this campground remains open even in rainy weather. It is also located in an area prone to strong winds. Please be aware of this before making your reservation.

We will not charge a cancellation fee in the following cases.
① If it is announced that this area is in the path of a typhoon and the campground cannot be used safely.
② If a weather warning is issued between 3:00 p.m. on the day before your visit and the day of your visit, and it is not safe to use the campground.
③ When the campground cannot be used safely due to natural disasters or other circumstances.
If any of the conditions listed in ① through ③ apply to you, please contact us by phone during the Natori Trail Center’s operating hours. If you are contacting us after the fact, please do so within one week.
If condition ④ applies to you, please be sure to contact us by phone or email.

We have installed bio-toilets that use microorganisms to break down and treat waste. Since they do not use water, these eco-friendly toilets minimize the impact of wastewater on soil and water quality.
Important Notes
1. About the Campground Environment
This campground is located adjacent to the Michinoku Coastal Trail Natori Trail Center in the Yuriage district, which was affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. Although the campground is close to the ocean and the area is known for strong winds, there are currently no windbreaks, such as windbreak forests, in place. Please be aware that this environment requires caution when setting up tents or using open flames, and please keep this in mind when making your reservation.
2. Handling Fire
The types of stoves and cooktops available vary by site. Please check the table below in advance.
*Firewood (bundles of coniferous wood) is available for purchase at the on-site store. Please feel free to buy some.

- Open fires and campfires are prohibited.
- Within the auto campground, you may use fire pits or similar equipment as long as you use a fire-resistant mat.
- At the free tent sites and campfire sites, campfire pits and similar equipment may only be used on the gravel-covered areas.
- Only handheld fireworks are permitted in the gravel-covered area. (Please be considerate of those around you.)
- Please dispose of used charcoal in the charcoal storage area next to the composting toilet.
- Alcohol stoves and gas stoves may be used near your hands (please exercise extreme caution).
- Strong winds may occur in this area depending on the season or time of day. When handling fire, please be very careful around grass and dry vegetation, and extinguish the fire immediately if you feel it is dangerous.
- Bonfires are prohibited when a fire warning is issued (such as when the maximum wind speed exceeds 10 m/s and the maximum humidity is 35% or less).
3. Waste Disposal
Please either take any trash generated at the campground home with you or sort and dispose of it properly as follows.

○ Combustible waste and plastic waste: Sort into the designated bags and turn them in at the front desk upon checkout (*Designated bags will be provided at check-in)
○ Glass bottles, cans (except gas canisters), PET bottles, and completely extinguished ashes and charcoal: Place in the designated box next to the eco-toilet

Please be sure to take the following items home with you.
○ Gas canisters (including empty ones), BBQ grates, cardboard, Styrofoam, unburned firewood and charcoal (to prevent fires), and any trash that does not fit in the designated bags, as well as any items not listed under [Items That Can Be Disposed of on Site]
4. About Parking
When using the auto campsites, parking is limited to one vehicle per site as a general rule. However, you may not park in a way that extends beyond the designated parking space or park a vehicle that does not fit entirely within the space.Additionally, parking on other sites, on pathways within the campground, or in vacant spaces may inconvenience other guests, so please use the central parking lot. If you are using the open tent sites or campfire sites, please use the central parking lot. However, you may drive up to the area in front of the composting toilets to load and unload gear during setup and takedown.
5. About Bedtime
The campground is used by a variety of people, including hikers on the Michinoku Coastal Trail and the general public. We ask that you keep noise to a minimum after 9:00 p.m.
6. In the Event of a Disaster or Accident
In the Event of an Earthquake or Tsunami
If an earthquake occurs while you are using the campground and a tsunami advisory, tsunami warning, or major tsunami warning is issued, please evacuate immediately to a nearby evacuation shelter to ensure your safety. The temporary evacuation shelter closest to the Natori Trail Center in the event of a tsunami is “ Yuriage Chuo Daiichi Housing Complex.”In addition, the Yuriage Community Center is also designated as an emergency evacuation site. Please use the emergency staircase to go up to the roof. Please note that temporary evacuation sites are not equipped with emergency food or water, so we ask that you bring your own supplies with you when evacuating, if possible.
In the event of a sudden illness, fire, or other emergency
If any accident occurs while using the campground—such as a sudden illness, injury, or fire—please first contact the police (110) or the fire department/emergency medical services (119) on your own. After that, please notify the center staff.(If no center staff are present—such as at night—please call the center staff contact number listed on the usage permit provided to you at check-in.)
7. Consideration for Others
The Michinoku Coastal Trail Natori Trail Center Campground is a facility open to a wide range of people, including hikers walking the Michinoku Coastal Trail and visitors from both within and outside the region. To ensure that all visitors can enjoy their stay, please be considerate of those around you—for example, by avoiding loud noises.
8. Other
Pets on Board
Pets are allowed on the campground, but since there are also guests who do not bring pets, please observe proper etiquette, such as keeping your pet on a leash.
*Please use caution when using a retractable leash.
Please refrain from bringing pets into the facility.
About Smoking
You are welcome to use the smoking area next to the eco-toilet. There are no ashtrays provided, so please bring your own portable ashtray.

Within a 10- to 20-minute walk of the Natori Trail Center, you’ll find places to savor Natori’s cuisine, such as theYuriagePort Morning Market,Maple Hall, and Kawamachi Terrace Yuriage. There’s also Jinchu —famous for its beef tongue and offering day-trip BBQ options—as well as the Natori City Cycle Sports Center, which offers bike rentals and is perfect for families(which offers day-use bathing), and the Natori City Earthquake Recovery Heritage Museum, where you can learn about the damage caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami and the recovery efforts. We highly recommend using the campground as a base to explore the Yuriage area.
